Chapman Westport is a 300-acre Class-A Business Park located three miles from Pittsburgh International Airport. The development is master planned for light manufacturing, distribution, flex, and retail space, as well as office campus and hospitality sites. Chapman Westport Properties, a prominent real estate development in Pittsburgh, PA undertook a significant roofing project to modernize and enhance the efficiency of their commercial properties. This project aimed to improve the roofing system’s performance and achieve cost savings and reducing lead times. One of the most compelling outcomes of this project was the cost savings achieved. By opting for the OneDek® system, the project had a 15% reduction in steel framing costs, translating into significant material expense savings. Additionally, the lead time for acquiring roof materials was reduced by 13 weeks, which facilitated a quicker procurement process and allowed the roofing phase to commence without delay. As Robert Brate from Nationwide Steel Works noted, “We were able to install the structural deck and insulation in one shot, which helped us to complete the 100,000-square-foot installation in roughly six weeks. Since OneDek is a great new product and better overall low-slope roof system for installers and building owners, we were excited about being part of the OneDek project and look forward to more OneDek project installations in the future.”
