Latitude Climbing and Fitness, located in Hampton, Virginia is conveniently located in the Peninsula Town Center. This fitness center is designed to be a hub of activity and inclusivity, catering to climbers of all levels and visitors of all ages. The Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate, which recognizes outstanding achievements in design and development, has honored Latitude Climbing and Fitness with the award for best recreational, entertainment, hospitality project, submitted by Spacemakers, Inc. The facility’s layout offers exceptional design flexibility, with modular elements that can adapt to a wide range of activities, from climbing and fitness classes to community events. The climbing walls and fitness areas can be easily reconfigured to meet evolving needs, making it a versatile hub for both fitness enthusiasts and local gatherings. This flexibility, paired with the integration of materials, makes Latitude Climbing and Fitness a standout project in the Hampton Roads area. In 2023, insulated metal panels (IMPs) played a crucial role in completing this project at the Latitude Climbing and Fitness center featuring the AdobeTexture® HE40A panels and the DM40 Mesa panels. The HE40A panels were instrumental in integrating AdobeTexture, a unique feature that incorporates a stucco look and texture directly on the insulated metal wall panels. This eliminates the need for additional elastomeric coatings or multi-step stucco applications.

The panels come pre-finished and arrive on-site as a single unit, simplifying the installation process and reducing labor time. The DM40 Mesa panels, used alongside the AdobeTexture HE40A panels, are known for their efficiency and versatility. Designed for commercial applications, these panels deliver long-term performance in thermal insulation, moisture management, and vapor control. For a climbing and fitness center, this means maintaining a comfortable indoor climate, reducing energy consumption, and ensuring a health environment with minimal moisture related issues, all of which contribute to a better experience for members and lower operational costs. The interior side of the panels is designed for easy cleaning and maintenance, as it can be conveniently wiped down for efficient upkeep. The composite construction consolidates multiple functions—exterior finish, weather barrier, insulation, and vapor control into a single component. Insulated metal panels work harmoniously with brick and other facades by providing a modern, clean aesthetic that complements more traditional materials. The sleek surface of IMPs contrasts nicely with the texture of brick, while their variety of finishes allows them to be customized to match or accentuate surrounding materials like stone or glass.
